I finally got Sure Cuts A Lot installed on the laptop and used it last night! All I had time for was cutting out some lettering for a play this weekend, but it worked so slick! The selection of fonts is outrageous and I probably used up quite a bit of time just browsing. Being able to assign and see exactly where the cutting would happen on the mat was very impressive to me. I just haven't gotten the hang of determining that with the different Cricut cartridges yet. SCAL is expanding my creative horizons faster than I can keep up! What a bummer!

A bagillion thanks go to my dear daughter Ashleigh for all of her technical help with my blog. She is my techy, my "is this cute?" advisor, and my photographer. Thanks, sweetie, you're THE BEST!

show & tell!

Below are some of the projects I have been working on lately. The frames of "Welcome" are some home decor items. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out. I think they could be used to dress up a nice guest room.

The little "Blossom Bracelets" are the ones I described in an earlier post. They are so cute and comfortable. I feel really good about recycling some things and making a "green" project.

And the red plate! Oh, this is definitely my favorite one! I saw this plate at the store and imagined it with these chocolate colored swirls on it. It took some patience to measure and line things up, but it was so worth it.

These items, plus some cards, will be going to the local consignment shop to bring in a few extra dollars. If you would like to order a custom project similar to what you see here, leave me a message and we'll meet at the fence to work it out!

using my time

Earlier today I cut out some flowers from fabric with my Cricut Expression. I put a few supplies in a little bag and headed off to horse club. While I sat at the gate - waiting for the person with the key - I glued flowers together and glued tiny pearl beads onto buttons for the centers. Oh yeah, and I wrapped some recycled silicone bracelets with wide ribbon. Glue all the pieces together in the right order and you get a really cute bracelet! Recycle some stuff and use my "waiting time" for something productive - makes a nice day.

Now for a creative way to collect unwanted bracelets so I can recycle some more! I'll take photos and post them soon.

The Beginning

Here's my first post on my first blog! I wanted a place to show off my projects and share ideas. My interests include all kinds of creative things and I plan to start my own business expressing some of that creativity. Step up to the fence anytime . . . where we can all share our ideas!
